We are holding our first Photographic weekend course with award winning photographer Chris Palmer on 30 March - 1 April. The course is all inclusive, including accommodation (Bed and Breakfast), all food and tuition over the weekend. Aimed at keen amateur photographers it will explore photographic composition and technique in a small group. The wonderful local area provides plenty of opportunity to take pictures. All participants will leave with a professionally produced print and plenty of extra knowledge. Our photography course is close to the Brecon Beacons National Park so there is plenty of opportunity to take stunning photographs during the course.
Our photographic course includes bed and breakfast, evening meals, lunches, course material, course notes and a finished print. Transport and wine/drinks are not included.
Price of £235.00 is based on two people sharing a double/twin room. For a second person joining the weekend but not taking part in the photographic course the price is £175.00. For single occupancy of a room the price is £295.00. Our B&B is located close to Hay-on-Wye which is famous as the "Book Town" so ideal for partners not taking part in the photographic course but wanting a relaxed weekend away.
Please call us on 01497 842935 to book the photographic course. We require a £100.00 non-refundable deposit. If the course date has to be cancelled or changed for any reason you will be offered a full refund or alternative course date. The balance of the weekend fee is payable on departure.
Although initially choosing to qualify and follow a career path in television electronics, Chris continued to maintain his long time interest and love of photography. This eventually evolved into a variety of creative jobs in film, television and photography, which finally led to his appointment to set up a corporate media facility providing all in house requirements in film television and photography within the electricity supply industry. Following privatisation of the industry in the mid nineties Chris left to set up his own business and has worked as a full time photographer ever since.
Chris is an award winning member of the British Institute of Professional photographers and has been photographer of the year in both fashion and commercial (advertising). He was also selected to have his work auctioned at a major charity event at Bonham's Fine Art Auctioneers at Bond Street London. From hundreds of submissions Chris's work was selected within the top thirty and he was delighted to be invited to the pre auction party to discuss his work.
Chris has served on British Institute Committees for many years, organising seminars to advise and help other professional photographers, especially during the early years of digital photography. He currently offers photographers one to one tuition in the use of adobe software and workflow in digital imaging. Chris is a total devotee to digital imaging and the scope in provides for creative expression, image enhancement and manipulation. A Nikon user from the mid seventies to date, Chris has been fortunate to have used most of their pro range of cameras and lenses, as a long term professional he has been selected by Nikon for membership to the Nikon Professional User Scheme.
