Hay Festival has put the border market town of Hay-on-Wye on the map and attracts thousands of visitors every year, our bed and breakfast is well positioned for the festival site, you can hop on the festival shuttle bus from Llowes or take your bike. Whilst Hay Festival may be the big one there are numerous superb events taking place in the area during the rest of the year, everything form world bog snorkelling to Brecon Jazz. Wales has played host to many major events including the Ryder Cup in 2010 and the many visitors get a tiny glimpse of the principality and what it has to offer maybe on a return visit.
The big shows of Brecon Jazz, the Royal Welsh show and Abergavenny Food Festival are well known but smaller events are equally enjoyable and give you the opportunity to get involved in local events. There are numerous walking weekends including the ever expanding Crickhowell Walking Festival and our local village hall hosts many first class arts events during the year. The Glasbury Art weekend displays work from world reknown artists together with local art of the first order, and is also responsible for bringing the Welsh National Opera to the area this year. All this and more when you stay at Westview Guesthouse bed and breakfast.
