At Westview Guesthouse we offer dedicated fast charging from specially installed EV charging units that offer Type 2, 32Amp and standard 13Amp charging in our car park. Whilst staying at our B&B in the lovely Brecon Beacons, mid Wales you are able to enjoy modern charging for electric vehicles from Tesla to Twizy. All this supported by Zero Carbon World.
Our commitment to eco transport in Wales goes much further than just offering superb fast EV charging we also have available Renault Twizys for use by our guests whilst staying in our bed and breakfast.
We are actively working to extend the EV charging network in the Brecon Beacons and Wales. Welsh Road Trips, set up in 2011, was the first network of EV charge points in Wales and we have now setting up a Wales wide network under Zero Carbon Road Trips. Eco Travel Network charging points are our latest venture to promote low cost EV charging.
EV Charging and accommodation
A full fast charge EV charging station has been installed in our car park for guests and visitors to use to charge their electric car whilst staying with us at Westview Guesthouse near Hay-on-Wye. This dedicated EV charge station provides Type 2 Mennekes, 32 Amp and 13 Amp points. Parking whilst charging your EV is safe and is off road in a quiet location.
Full charging for Renault Twizys as part of the Eco Travel Network charge scheme is provided free of charge. Just leave your Twizy whilst enjoying the countryside and Wye Valley walk to Hay or Glasbury.
Actively promoting EV in Wales
Our green approach to running our business means we actively promote electric vehicle charging in the Brecon Beacons and mid Wales. We are proud to have been part of the first EV charging network in Wales based on the principle of an open charge network at destinations. By providing proper charging facilities at our bed and breakfast we hope to enable access to mid Wales by electric cars to become a reality. Welsh Road Trips already offer EV tours between our three hotels, all with full EV charging. We now aim to extend this with Zero Carbon Road Trips and network of places to charge across Wales, making Wales an electric destination.
Low energy Twizy charge network
We are founding directors of the Eco Travel Network Ltd and have set up Zero Carbon Road Trips, to encourage visitors to Wales to experience electric vehicle driving and charging in wonderful rural countryside. Eco Travel Network owns and runs a fleet of Renault Twizys in the Brecon Beacons National Park, so it was logical to set up a network of low energy charge points within the park to enable the Twizy to charge easily. We have over 50 Twizy EV charge points in the Brecon Beacons National Park. In addition to fixed charging we also have a fully mobile EV charge station for use at shows and festival across Wales.
Fast electric car charging
Westview Guesthouse as been able to provide fast electric charging at our B&B Hay-on-Wye since spring 2011. We have charged electric vehicles of all shapes and sizes, including Tesla, Nissan Leaf, Renault Twizy, Mega City and B-Bug from our EV charging station located in our safe car park. A warm welcome is provided to all electric vehicle owners looking to charge their car and we are ideally located for a trips to Hay-on-Wye - you can even borrow our Renault Twizy whilst your car charges. We have our own Twizy for hire at Westview and use it ourselves as much as possible to get around, just part of our commitment to EV charging in Wales.
